
Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (vegan & gluten free)
My brown "butter" chocolate chip cookie recipe has been beloved by my friends for years. They are always surprised when I tell them it's vegan & gluten free. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup 2 sticks vegan butter (myokos preferred brand)
- 2 cups of gluten free flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar or maple sugar brown sugar swerve if sugar free
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar or coconut sugar granulated sugar swerve if sugar free
- 2 tbsp flax meal + 6 tbsp of warm water or 2 eggs/eggs substitute
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts or any mix in like pretzels, toffee, choco chunks,
- Flaky sea salt to make it cute
Instructions
- Brown butter for 15 minutes and add an ice cube to bring down to room temperature
- Mix butter, flax eggs, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla extract
- Mix GF all purpose flour, salt, and baking soda together
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients
- Fold in walnuts, chocolate chips
- Chill n fridge for 15 minutes (or up to 48 hours)
- Bake 9-11 minutes for regular size cookies
- Bake 15-17 minutes for giant cookies
Notes
Feel free to add different mix ins to your dough like pretzels, nuts, caramel chips, peanut butter chips, etc. Enjoy!
